 Thulite Rough Stones Formally known as thulite-piemonite, thulite is a rare pink variety of zoisite and was named in the 19th century after the mythical island of Thule (Norway). The best and most significant deposits of thulite in the world are found in Norway, where its availability is greatly limited due to the weather and remote location. It is also very difficult to reach, as it is on a high plateau surrounded by swampland.  In contrast to the stone often called thulite in the USA, which usually contains only a very small percentage of actual thulite, our supply is nearly pure, and a very high quality, thulite. These Thulite rough stones originate from a discovery made in 2018 at an occurrence in Snillfjorden, Norway. This material represents a distinct variety of the national stone of Norway, known for its characteristic pink hues. Compared to the material from the well-known Leksvik mine, the Thulite from Snillfjorden is slightly lighter in color and softer in its consistency. Due to the easier accessibility of this specific mining site, we are able to offer this mineral at a more favorable price point while maintaining its authentic geological appeal.  Thin Seam Tiger Eye Rough Stones These tiger eye pieces have thin seams so they are much easier and faster to cut than the thick pieces. All have a good golden color, mostly very level and unmarred by layers of iron stone running through them. Thickness of pieces varies from about 3/8" up to just over 1" thick.    Size: approx. from 2 - 3.5 inches, about 2 to 4 pieces per pound. Only small pieces available!
