These Bismuth crystals are remarkable examples of laboratory-grown mineral structures, known for their striking geometric hopper crystals. This unique formation occurs as the crystal edges grow faster than the interior faces, resulting in the characteristic "stair-step" or "pyramid" shapes that fascinate collectors and scientists alike. Each specimen features a brilliant, iridescent surface displaying a vibrant spectrum of colors, including vivid blues, purples, golds, and greens. This rainbow effect is a natural result of a thin oxidation layer that forms as the molten metal cools. While Bismuth is a naturally occurring element, these specific architectural forms are achieved through controlled cooling processes in Germany. Each 8 oz bag contains approximately 7 to 10 pieces, with individual crystals measuring about 1/2 to 1 inch in size. Each piece weighs roughly 20g to 30g, making them perfect for educational sets, collector displays, or as unique components for creative projects. With a Mohs hardness of 2 - 2.5, these crystals are relatively fragile and should be handled with care to preserve their intricate edges and colorful finish. Mineral: Bismuth (Element) Cut/Form: Natural Lab-Grown Hopper Crystals Origin: Germany Size: approx. 1/2 to 1 inch per piece Special Features: Iridescent rainbow oxidation, geometric stair-step structure, approx. 7-10 pcs per bag Unit for Sale: 8 oz bag

Geological Intrigue: Sourced exclusively from Madagascar, Kambaba Jasper is a unique volcanic rock (Rhyolite) characterized by its deep forest-green base and swirling black orbicular "eyes." Rose Quartz Star Spheres Star rose quartz - the famous deep pink variety from Madagascar! These rose quartz spheres show the asterism for which the Madagascar rose quartz is so famous. When a single-source light, such as the sun, a halogen or a LED, shines directly on the sphere, a white 4- or 6-rayed star appears on the surface where the light is shining. This is a phenomenon attributed to the unique alignment of titanium and iron fibers that occurred during the formation of the rose quartz. Schalenblende Small Slabs - One Side Polished These unusual specimens hail from Poland. They are a combination of galena (the silvery metallic part), sphalerite (the brown bands), and wurzite (the tan/vanilla color) which fluoresces orange under ultraviolet light. Some also contain a little pyrite. They occur in masses with concentric layers of the three or sometimes four minerals. Schalenblende is the German name which has carried over directly into English, although they are also called "brunckite" in Australia. Because mined in Europe, this stone is less well known in the USA and correspondingly more rare. All pieces are face-polished and most have a flat saw-cut on the backside, while some have the irregular end-cuts on the backside. All make nice specimens, especially at the price!
