This polychrome Liddicoatite Tourmaline slice is a remarkable specimen sourced from Madagascar. Known for its complex chemical composition, Liddicoatite is a calcium-rich member of the Tourmaline group, celebrated by collectors for its extraordinary internal structures and vibrant color variations. The slice showcases a stunning color palette, mainly blue mixed with green, displaying the distinct zoning and geometric patterns that formed during the crystal's growth. While the face of the slice is polished to reveal these natural patterns, the edges remain natural, preserving the original crystal surface and providing an authentic, raw contrast to the polished interior. With a diameter of approximately 3 inches and a weight of 1.5 oz, this piece is a substantial and high-quality collector's item. The intricate blue and green color distribution is entirely natural, reflecting the unique geological conditions of its origin in Madagascar. This Liddicoatite Tourmaline specimen is an excellent choice for professional mineral collections or as a premium item for specialized retailers. As a natural product, every slice features its own unique arrangement of colors and crystal symmetry. Fossil Wood from Madagascar Here are beautifully preserved stems or branches of petrified wood (Aurakarie). These pieces of petrified branches are polished on one end to better display their unique inner pattern; the other end has a natural termination. All lie on their back and/or sit on their side. Mined in northwest Madagascar (Akondromena), the wood is estimated to be about 180 million years old. Safe, non-reactive and beautiful in aquariums and terrariums. They display earth tones in great variety. The best part is the detail preserved in the fossil bark; as these are mined, not found on the surface, there has been no erosion or river tumbling and the pieces are in almost perfect condition! Sizes range from the smallest, 3.4 ounces and approximately 1" in diameter, up to just over 2 pounds or 5.5" in diameter. We try to give you a single piece which most closely corresponds to the weight you choose. If you want more, smaller pieces totaling your chosen weight instead, please specify that in the Comments area upon checking out. Price per 1 pound. Mined and polished in Madagascar.
Natural Copal Natural pieces of copal (fossil resin - similar to amber) in their natural form. They appear to glow with a warm golden color and have a short range of similar earth tones. Size: The pieces are approximately 6/8 to 2 1/2 inches long. Unit for sale: 1 pound Origin: Madagascar
Natural Gem Heliodor Crystal from Madagascar Heliodor is the natural, light or yellow-green variety of beryl. This heliodor is beautiful, and a unique specimen! It sparkles in the sunlight and glows as light passes into it. This is 2 3/4 INCHES TALL and from about 5/8 to 3/4 inch wide. It weighs 200 carats or 40 grams. It is from Madagascar and completely natural! It is easily mounted on a flat acrylic stand with some mineral tack. The crystal has the classic flat beryl termination, sized about half the diameter of the crystal, being incomplete. There are additional partial terminations at slightly different levels from about 1/4 inch and less from the top of the crystal. Growth layers parallel to the termination are visible for about 2 inches, from the base until about 1/2 inch from the top, where the crystal becomes much clearer. The color is a light green, not yellowish, and is more of a sea green or slightly minty green. The color appears to lighten in the top half inch or so of the crystal where the clarity increases as well. Some mineral contact zoning is visible from the base, from about 1/2 inch up one side of the crystal to about 1 1/2 inches up another side. The tan colors are a result of clay that was included into the formation of the crystal, notably along 2 edges and in between some of the incomplete terminations. This crystal has 6 well-defined, lustrous sides with 5 crisp edges for most of the crystal. We bought this crystal from the miner himself, so our price remains very low! Unit for sale: 1 crystal Origin: Ankazobe, Madagascar

Schalenblende Small Slabs - One Side Polished These unusual specimens hail from Poland. They are a combination of galena (the silvery metallic part), sphalerite (the brown bands), and wurzite (the tan/vanilla color) which fluoresces orange under ultraviolet light. Some also contain a little pyrite. They occur in masses with concentric layers of the three or sometimes four minerals. Schalenblende is the German name which has carried over directly into English, although they are also called "brunckite" in Australia. Because mined in Europe, this stone is less well known in the USA and correspondingly more rare. All pieces are face-polished and most have a flat saw-cut on the backside, while some have the irregular end-cuts on the backside. All make nice specimens, especially at the price! Size: All are close to the same size, at 1.00 to 2.00 inches. About 1/4 to 1/2" thick. Unit for sale: 1 piece Mined in Pomorzany, Poland.
Tanzanite Rough Stones These small pieces of tanzanite are mid-grade: purplish and gemmy, not facet-grade. NOT HEAT TREATED. Some may have a schisty matrix still attached. Many creative uses, including wire-wrapping for jewelry!
