 Natural "Spike" Quartz Crystals - 1 Pound These natural quartz crystals are grouped together because they all have the same growth habit, which is a consistently straight zone axis, instead of becoming narrower or wider, until the beginning of the tip of the crystal. This type of quartz crystal is popularly known as "spike crystals" and sometimes "needle quartz."  The crystals tend to have a light yellow or orange tint to them due to the presence of iron. This means they are a little irregularly shaped and/or balanced, and most have slight imperfections. Polished Clear Quartz Crystals A Grade   These are very clear quartz crystals! All have been given a flat bottom, so they stand up straight and polished faces to enhance their clarity. The inclusions are natural quartz inclusions, with only a trace of iron or chlorite in a few. They are almost all the bubble/veil type inclusions, which tend to be concentrated in the middle to bottoms of the crystals, leaving the rest of the crystals without opaque/cloudy areas. Most of the tips are completely clear. Very good polish.   Size: varies greatly. From 2 to about 4 5/8 inches long, about 7/8 to 2 7/8" wide.  Extra Clear Polished Quartz Crystals These quartz crystals are almost as clear as glass, a rarity for quartz crystals! More commonly from Brazil, these Madagascar crystals are even more unique. All have flat bottoms, so they stand up by themselves. All are clear quartz, with no smoky hints or phantoms. While normally each crystal has a few inclusions in it,  the difference between this extra grade and the A grade is, that there are no cloudy patches in these! The few veil inclusions are very small and do not obstruct the light passing through the crystal.   Size: from about 1 1/2" to about 3 1/8" tall, and about 5/8" to 2" wide at the base. 2 - 3 pieces per unit.
