Thulite Raw Stones Chips - 1 lb Formally known as thulite-piemonite, thulite is a rare pink variety of zoisite and was named in the 19th century after the mythical island of Thule (Norway). The best and most significant deposits of thulite in the world are found in Norway, where its availability is greatly limited due to the weather and remote location. It is also very difficult to reach, as it is on a high plateau surrounded by swampland. In contrast to the stone often called thulite in the USA, which usually contains only a very small percentage of actual thulite, our supply is nearly pure, and a very high quality, thulite. See our confirmation from Germany's EPI, the Institute for Gem Testing (Institut fuer Edelstein Pruefung) and our certificate of authenticity. Being a silicate, thulite is dense and heavy, but takes a good polish (for best results, polish with water to keep the stone cool, as the heat from dry polishing can darken and discolor it). Size : about 1/2 to 1 inch in diameter. Unit for Sale: 1 pound Origin: Norway.
