This unique Nellite bead strand features an unusual mineral also known as Lion Skin. Mined in South Africa near traditional Tiger Eye deposits, Nellite is considered an intermediary stone between Tiger Eye and Pietersite.
The beads are carved into a flattened oval shape, which beautifully showcases the mineral's complex characteristics. Thanks to a high silica content, these beads exhibit a distinctive translucency and a visual depth reminiscent of Labradorite. When viewed closely, the intricate patterns are clear, while from a distance, the blue and golden/tan tones blend into a harmonious, muted palette that complements various jewelry designs.
Each strand is approximately 15 inches long and contains about 24 beads. Each individual bead measures approximately 5/8" in length, 1/2" in width, and just over 1/4" in thickness. This strand is an excellent choice for jewelry designers seeking a rare and sophisticated material.
