Bismuth Crystals - 8 oz

These Bismuth crystals are remarkable examples of laboratory-grown mineral structures, known for their striking geometric hopper crystals. This unique formation occurs as the crystal edges grow faster than the interior faces, resulting in the characteristic "stair-step" or "pyramid" shapes that fascinate collectors and scientists alike.

Each specimen features a brilliant, iridescent surface displaying a vibrant spectrum of colors, including vivid blues, purples, golds, and greens. This rainbow effect is a natural result of a thin oxidation layer that forms as the molten metal cools. While Bismuth is a naturally occurring element, these specific architectural forms are achieved through controlled cooling processes in Germany.

Each 8 oz bag contains approximately 7 to 10 pieces, with individual crystals measuring about 1/2 to 1 inch in size. Each piece weighs roughly 20g to 30g, making them perfect for educational sets, collector displays, or as unique components for creative projects. With a Mohs hardness of 2 - 2.5, these crystals are relatively fragile and should be handled with care to preserve their intricate edges and colorful finish.
